Comments

This is a newer city park in St. Cloud that originated as a 100 square foot rose garden which was donated by a neighborhood couple, Bill and Virginia Clemens. The city already owned the adjoining land, so the garden grew all along Kilian Blvd., to include a total of six formal gardens, each with its own focus, and all but one sporting its own tiered, metal fountain. There is a white garden patterned after Sissinghurt Castle and a four quadrant trellage garden, each quadrant having plants with leaves and/or blossoms of only one color. Regardless of its focus, each of the six gardens character is formal, geometric and European in flavor. All plants are sun-loving and a fair percentage are annuals. All the gardens are connected by wide, red brick walkways and gradually ascend from one garden to the next. There is plant signage in the rose garden. Much of the garden is delineated by clipped undulating arborvitae hedges.
